A variety of different ways. Cells are triggered to commit suicide. Some cells are triggered to change their structure/receptors. Some cells are deactivated. Other cells are suppressed by specialized T cells.
What happens if the T cell does not recognize the antigen carried by an APC?
Nothing, because there is no stimulation.
What is the advantage of the costimulation requirement?
It ensures appropriate activation of T cells. It’s a back up measure, a double check.
