First degree murder
A deliberate and premeditated murder, or a killing that results during the commission of an inherently dangerous felony.
Conspiracy (CL)
An agreement between 2+ people to commit an unlawful act.
Conspiracy (modern)
An agreement between 2+ people to commit an unlawful act, and there must be an overt act in furtherance of the conspiracy.
Attempt
Requires a specific intent to commit a particular criminal act and a substantial step towards perpetrating the crime.
Solicitation
Occurs when an individual intentionally invites, requests, or commands another person to commit a crime.
Assault w/ attempt to commit battery
If a defendant has taken a substantial step toward completing a battery but fails, he will be guilty of assault.
Larceny
Taking another person’s property w/o his consent and w/ the intent to deprive him of it permanently.
Embezzlement
Occurs when a defendant converts the victim’s property to his own use.
Burglary
Breaking and entering the dwelling of another at night w/ the specific intent to commit a felony once inside.
Robbery
Taking another person’s property w/o his consent and w/ the intent to deprive him of it permanently, and the taking occurs from the victim’s person or in his presence either by violence or putting the victim in fear of imminent harm.
