How do fossils provide evidence that species have evolved from simpler organisms?
A
Fossils are remains of organisms that lived over 1000s of years ago and show changes over time. Some have similar features to present day species and so this allows a comparison to be made

A
There was an isolation of species by a geographical barrier. So there was variation in these isolated population bc of different environmental conditions and so natural selection acted on each isolated population. So the difference in the two species means they cannot interbreed.
