To remove the largest surface scratches and a small amount of surface coating
Always used in the direction of the wood grain

Large scale spray defect when the surface has been contaminated with oil It creates a fish eye defect.
Finish retreats from contaminated area Leaving bare spots surrounded by a rim of finish.
