The concentration of a worker, firm, region or country on a narrow range of goods and services

- may lead to repetitive tasks and a bored workforce
- leads to vulnerability (e.g one worker falls sick, no products can be produced. Very reliant on everyone)
- lack of flexibility (workers can’t move since they are specially trained to do one job)
