Q

What are some adaptations of red blood cells which help it to do its function?

A
  1. Biconcave/disc shaped which increases the surface area to increase the amount of oxygen binding in the cell
  2. No nucleus so there is more space for oxygen
  3. Contains haemoglobin which binds to the oxygen

Q

Adaptations of nerve cells

A

Long Axon – able to transmit electrical nerve signals along a long distance
Branched dendrites - allows for extensive connections with other nerve cells
Myelin Sheath - Electrical insulation of the cell to prevent nerve impulse from being lost
