Case Conference (school level) or SBSLT (includes board personnel)
Does the TCDSB have an early intervention strategy?
Yes. Early identification consultations begin as early as kindergarden. Full day kindergarden-Language program. Kindergarden intervention program. Autism services Programs for social emotional needs.
Anti Bullying Programs; Healthy Relationship Programs Social Skills Emotional Issue and even for Attendance.
What does IPRC stand for?
IPRC stands for Identification Placement Review Committee Regulation 181/98
What are some rules regarding a IPRC?
Principal, Principal designate, teacher, parents and students can be present at an IPRC. Once placed in a category placement, with parent permission and consultation. An IEP must be written within 30 days. A principal must receive notice of an IPRC 15 days prior to the meeting. Parents must have notice 10 days prior. A review can occur once a year only after 3 months. Parents can wave the review by notifying the principal.

What is the function of an IPRC?
Assess a student’s strengths and weaknesses but needs. Identify exceptionality and program placement conduct Educational assessments: Psychological, Psychiatric; Health; Audiological and Social. Parents and Joint Team staff are utilized during this time.
Who is responsible for the IEP?
The school principal is responsible for the IEP. But a joint team is involved in its development. A resource teacher can write and develop an IEP.
Define Autism?
Autism is a severe learning disorder that is characterized by disturbances in rate of educational development, ability to relate to the environment, mobility, and or perception speech or language. It is a qualitative impariment in social interaction and qualitative impairments in communication and restricted repetitive stereotyped patterns of behaviour interests and activities.
How would a student who is Autistic receive support? Discuss.
A student who is identified with Autism will have an IEP. Individual Education Plan. A legal document outlying supports and or any modification/accommodations. Some examples include: Paul Moffatt attended class weekly but had an EA. Regular class withdrawl with indirect support or regular class with resource Assistance. The goal is to have the student live out our Catholic values daily; enhance student achievement and well being and have motivated staff and inspired employees serve the student.
How can you monitor a student with an IEP such as Paul M?
With specific goals such as setting literacy as a priority. The student will be monitored and supported in this goal. Measurement will take place through EQAO and OSSLT results and running records that are attainable. Results oriented through SEA and resource team. A timeline to ensure monitoring responsibility.
What does a SW stand for?
SW stands for Social Worker.
