What is the procedure with Amputees?

A

If a limbis is missing, attach the sensor to the remaining stump or torso, close to where the limb would have been.

Make sure the sensors are not on top of any star tissue.

Procedure for burn patients and / or scarring?

A

Recently, burnd skin is usually very sensitive, and special care must be taken.

Place the sensor on an area that is free from burns. When removing the sensors, be very careful to avoid damage to the area.

Clean the limbs and chest areas well after the completion of the test.

Follow the isolation techniques as needed.

What to do for pediatrics?

A

A bottle or soother may help soothe the baby

Have the motherhood the baby

Lightly wrap the baby without restricting movement completely

Place the sensors higher on the arms and legs - less muscle movement

Stickers are great. Be careful with sweets following parental decisions

For slightly older children, make a game of it. Show a teddy bear or dog with a sensor and leads on it.

What to do in case of tremors or arthritis?

A

Arthritic patient - place a small pillow under the trouble limbs or back.

Parkinson’s disease - place a pillow under the limbs, tuck hands under the butt.

A

Follow lead positioning as closely as possible
Should be noted on the tracing for the cardiologist

A

Is a congenital anomaly
The heart has less space than the normal room.
A depression or hollow in the chest.
Sternum/ breastbone is pushed abnormally inward.
Moderate to severe cases may become progressively worse.

A

Be relaxed, calm, and reassuring.
Show the patient that you are a caring and knowledgeable person.
Explain the procedure and reassure them that the test is painless.
Never judge!

Ensure that you are very gentle with the patient - their skin can be very painful and sensitive.

Follow isolation protocols at your workplace gloves, gown, mask, and eye protection as required.

What to do in Mastectomy cases?

A

Scar tissue can make finding the intercoastal space difficult.

Maybe easier to place on the ribs. Make a note on the tracing if the sensors are moved.
