Why did the Spartans need a warrior society
They needed a warrior society to keep the helots(slaves) in order

What was the first trial spartan boys put through?
Firstly they were checked as a baby if they were strong enough if not they were left on a cliff in the wild.
What other trials were spartan boys put through
At 7 they were sent to live in the wild with only a knife and they had to survive.
They were then tested at 12 where they had to get as much cheese as they could while it was protected by older boys with whips.
The final test was to get into a mess(dining club)
What qualities were needed for spartan society?
Spartans had to be WARRIORS
DISCIPLINED and
COLLECTIVE MINDED (unselfish)
What role did women and girls play in spartan society
Spartan woman had the rights to own land, to be educated, to inherit estates, choose who they marry, to manage finances, to train and to speak in public
