Describe the spartacists
A
Left-wing communist group based in Berlin
Led by rosa luxemburg + Karl liebknecht
They want to Germany to be run by democratically elected counsil of workers

What happened on the 6th January 1919.
A
They tried to take over Berlin
Thousands of them roamed down the street firing guns and trying to occupy important buildings

What did Ebert try to do to stop them?
A
He sent around 2000 ex-soldiers (froekorps) to attack them. After 3 days of brutal street fight the freikorps recaptured buildings and the sparcasist leaders were imprisoned
