Spanky is aggressive here by grabbing Hector’s wireless. This is another side to Spanky that we have not seen as much

Appearance is everything to Spanky and dresses as if he is quite the rebel. His ‘teddy bear’ indicates that he is quite rebellious

Spanky is friends with Phil and so covers him in the morning when Phil is not at work yet when Curry asks where he is
“but i told him you had diarrohea and you’d take a big dish of it down to him later on”
his immaturity and humorous quality is highlighted when he begs hector to tell him who he invited to the staff dance
“spanky: tell us hector…(gets down on knees). please…(grabs hector’s coat tails)
Spanky cares about his appearance. being well dressed is an escape mechanism to forget the slab room. He hates the monotony of it and has to forget about it which he can only do by dressing in a certain way

Spanky has a different attitude towards work than Phil. He cares about his job and wants to succeed. He remembered all of the colours he needs to grind which shows that he actually listens to what his superiors have to say.
“Spanky: crimson lake, magenta, olive…(starts working quickly and methodically)
Without Phil’s insight spanky is helpful. He helps Alan to grind the paint. This shows that he can be friendly and nice without his presence. He cares about getting work done and wants Alan to succeed as well
