Space
Area between, around or within things.
Space in three-dimensional sculpture will have l & w & depth.
Space in two-dimensional sculpture
means the arrangement of objects on the picture plane. (l & w)
Picture Plane
Surface of your drawing paper
Positive Space
Actual object
Negative Space
Space around the object
Position
Placing an object higher on the page makes it appear farther back then objects placed lower on the page
Overlapping
When an object overlaps another, it appears closer to the viewer and the other looks farther
Size Variation
Smaller objects look farther away while larger look closer
Colour
Bright colours look closer, neutral look farther
Value
Lighter values look farther, darker values look closer
One Point Perspective
When lines look like the are meeting at one point on the horizon
Two Point Perspective
The lines look like they are meeting at two points on the horizon line
