A nation with the means to project its power and influence anywhere in the world, and to be a dominant global force

Through access to nuclear weapons, satellite technology etc
Can be a threat but also a tool of diplomacy

Wealth and influence in exports and trade

Projected a certain ‘way of life’ e.g. through media/languages

The sphere of influence
