What is sovereignty?
The ultimate authority within a distinct territorial entity and membership of the international community
What is internal sovereignty?
Refers to a supreme decision-making and enforcement authority with regard to a particular territory and population
What is external sovereignty?
Non-interference, reciprocity, able to enter into relationships with other states.
What are the features of parliamentary sovereignty?
- Uncodified constitution
- Parliament is supreme authority
- Courts cannot overrule legislation
- Parliament cannot bind its successors
