Q

What zone does Southern Flinders Ranges belong to? Describe the region:

A

The Southern Flinders Ranges is the only region in the Far North Zone. It sits at the northeast tip of the Spencer Gulf. Most of the vineyards have been established on the slopes of the Flinders Ranges at 350-550 meters. The altitude and the sea breeze from the Gulf temper the hot climate. Top grapes: Shiraz, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot.

Q

What zone does the Southern Eyre Peninsula belong to? Describe the region:

A

The Peninsulas Zone. The strong maritime influence of the Spencer Gulf, combined with patches of terra rossa over limestone soils make the area suited to full-bodied red wine. Top grapes: Shiraz, Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Riesling, Chardonnay.
