What is the definition of demography?
Demography is the study of the size, structure, dispersement, and development of human populations.
What are the 3 main sources of demographic information?
- Census
- Birth registration
- Death registration
What acronym can be used to assess the quality of health information?
CAART (completeness, accessibility, accuracy, relevance/representativeness, timeliness).
What is the crude birth rate?
Live births/ 1,000 population.
What is the general fertility rate?
Live births/ 1,000 women aged 15-44 years (child bearing lifespan).
What are the 4 main sources of health information?
- Cancer registration system
- Hospital Episode Statistics
- Quality and Outcomes Framework (QoF)
- Notifications of Infectious Diseases
