Old Testament
First part of the Christian Bible, made of 39 books. Mostly written in Hebrew.
New Testament
Second part of the Christian Bible, written originally in Greek - records life and teachings
Tradition
A doctrine believed to have divine authority though not in scriptures
Magisterium
the official and authoritative teaching of the Roman Catholic Church
Reformation
16th century movement which started Protestantism and split of western church
Apostles
Primary disciples of Jesus
Bishops
A senior member of the Christian clergy having spiritual and administrative authority
Apostolic Succession
A teaching that bishops represent a direct line of continuity from the first apostles
Pope
“father” head of the Catholic Church
Denomination
A recognised independent branch of the Christian Church
Sola Scripture

Special revelation
Revelation that occurs to specific people at specific times
General revelation
Revelation that is available to all people at all times

Christian belongs to the branch of the Christian Church that seperated from the Catholic Church in the 16th century.
