What is a Sibilance?
A specific form of alliteration, which focuses on ‘s’ sounds. The sounds used include ‘s’, ‘sh’, ‘c’ and ‘ch’.
What is an Onomatopoeia?
Imitates a sound it is describing.
What is an Assonance?
When two or more words close to one another repeat the same vowel sound but start with different consonant sounds.
What is an Alliteration?
The same letter or sound at the beginning of words next to each other. They aren’t always necessarily the same letters just the sounds.
What is Figurative Language?
Uses figure of speech to be more effective, persuasive or impactful to the reader. Such figures of speech include similes and metaphors.
What is Emotive Language?
When language is used to create a strong emotional response; this could be any emotion such as anger, sadness, happiness, etc.
