Argument against Easy Believism
Easy Believism is a practical denial of the necessity of regeneration.
Is faith the cause of justification?
Faith is not the cause of justification. However, it is God’s appointed instrument to receive it.
Is justification contingent upon faith?
Justification in one’s actual experience: it is contingent upon faith.
Justification: judge or surgeon?
Judge - Biblically, it means “to declare legally righteous.” condemnation does not involve infusing of condemnation into man, so justification cannot either. Judge’s decision does not make someone something,
Verses on Justification
2 Cor. 5:21 "For our sake he made him to be sin who knew no sin, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God." Rom 5 (whole chapter)
Is the merit of faith is in itself?
The merit of faith is not in itself. Salvation is not a reward for my work of faith, but for Christ’s work, to which faith is an instrument.
