A

This means that it is more crucial than ever to maintain and regulate human activities within the forest, but first we need to understand what is happening within the trees.

A
  • In 1970s the first wave of deforestation happened due to the military regime seeing a profit in it.
  • The government gave out free land to people willing to move into the forest
  • The immigration caused activities like illegal mining, logging, cattle farming, and soybean farming which all were heavily associated with deforestation.

Analysis

  • The government gave out free land to people willing to move into the forest
  • The immigration caused activities like illegal mining, logging, cattle farming, and soybean farming which all were heavily associated with deforestation.
A
  • The government begin creating policies that would bring in more people which is not healthy for the forest as it is not meant to be a habitat for a huge population with industrialised ways that would cause pollution and deforestation.
  • These people were usually farmers and they needed to expand their land so they would burn the forest down, it released huge amounts carbon dioxide into the atmosphere. The now-ready land would then be used for more industrial purposes, further increasing the greenhouse gas output.
  • The illegal mining, logging, cattle farming, and soybean farming contributed to the deforestation of the forest, it caused people to chase profits due to greed and put their desires on top of the forest’s life.

Summary

The Amazon rainforest is dying, 18% of it is gone and it is estimated to completely disfunction after reaching its 20% threshold.

A

The Amazon forest is facing a huge issue of deforestation, as mentioned previously, the forest is estimated to be gone soon if the level of deforestation continues at a constant rate. This will mean disastrous consequences.

Analyse

  • The loss of trees means less trees to turn CO2 into oxygen
  • Loss of species and their habitats mean a disturbance in the ecosystem
  • The rights of indigenous people are ignored and trampled upon
A
  • Trees are important in controlling the Co2 in our atmosphere, it absorbs carbon emissiosn and turn it into fresh oxygen that we all need to survive. Without the biggest rainforest of earth, we will certainly see a rise in global warming caused by increased concentrations of carbon dioxide.
  • 1 in 10 species resides within the Amazon, if those species are going to be extinct it will mean a huge disruption in our current ecosystem. In order for an ecosystem to thrive it needs to have many different species because if a disease spread among certain species the whole food chain won’t just collapse due to the endangered species.
  • The indigenous population are unheard by the government as people continously burnt off the forest, if the forest is gone not only will they have to become climate refugees but also lose the important forest that have historically been intertwined with their culture. It means that despite the fact that tribes in the forest aren’t the cause of Amazon’s rainforest imminent collapse, they will be the ones who suffer the most.

Summary

The effect of deforestation on the Amazon forest is immeasurable and tangible.

A

The effects of deforestation in the Amazon Rainforest has had a negative impact on every population residing within it. Illegal fires in the forest burnt off the trees and the rights of animals and people. If this trend continues, scientists have already estimated a possible future..
