When should people with sore throats be referred (3)

A
  1. If a person has white or yellow spots in their throat as this could be a sign of a bacterial or fungal infection and they may need to see their doctor.
  2. Anyone with a sore throat lasting more than seven days, with no other associated cold and flu symptoms.
  3. Refer anyone taking medicines which suppress the immune system (such as methotrexate) to the pharmacist if they present with a sore throat.
