SOPM Chapter 5 Flashcards
Captains Glory Run
- Press the TO/GA button to arm the Flight Director for take-off mode.
- Select TA/RA on the transponder.
- At pilot’s discretion set the SPEED Knob to FMS or
MANUAL.
If MANUAL, set VFS on the speed window for Flap 1-3 take-off or 175kts for Flap 4 take-off.
- If required, select NAV for a LNAV departure.
VSPEED READOUTS AND BUGS
Four speeds are displayed prior to take-off:
V1 ……..1 ………….MAGENTA
VR ……..R…………..CYAN
V2 ………2 ………….WHITE
VFS …….FS…………GREEN
Normal engine idle indications are approximately:
N1 22%, ITT 480°C, N2 63%, FF 220 kg/hr
Although FADEC provides automatic over-temperature
protection and will automatically abort the start in the event of
a hot start, hot restart or hung start, the engine start must be
manually aborted when
- No positive oil pressure indication within 10 seconds after
N2 speed starts to increase, - During engine start with tailwind, if a positive increase of
N1 is not indicated before starter cut-out (50% N2). In this
case the aircraft should be repositioned prior to engine
start to minimize tailwind effects, - If ITT does not rise within 1 minute after fuel is applied (15
seconds after fuel is re-applied), - ITT exceeds start limit (Hot Start),
- If oil pressure stabilises below the engine limits,
- N1 and/or N2 failing to accelerate to stable idle speed
(Hung Start), - An intermittent electrical pneumatic or starter malfunction
occurs before the starter disengagement.
The N1 target indication on the EICAS must be equivalent to
the N1 target indication available via performance calculation. the tolerance is?
-0.1% up to +0.5% between the N1 indicated
on EICAS and the computed value via performance
calculation are allowed.
TAXI SPEEDS AND BRAKING?
Recommended taxi speed:
* Straight / DRY: 30 kt
* Straight / WET or CONTAMINATED: 10 kt
* Turns / DRY: 10 kt
* Turns / WET or CONTAMINATED: 5 kt
RUDDER / STEERING USE AND TURNING RADIUS
The maximum steering angle of rudder pedal is ± 7°.
For E190 operations the tail tip has the largest arc while turning and determines the minimum obstruction clearance path.
