A

Biseasonal rainfall encourages growth of succulents eg saguaro cactus

Gentle slopes have creosote bushes
Phreatophytes eg mesquite bushes grow beside streams/ salt pans
Soils are thin fertile alkaline
Seasonal rains leach soluble salts down through soil and are drawn up through evaporation
