Songbook 2002 Flashcards
Best Wordbook Ever
But statisticians say
We’re all the same
We follow fame, okay
So do what father tells you to
And buy what Temu sells to you
C’mon copy society
Don’t be dumb
See my numbers
And gods can’t lie
They yell what’s true
And if you don’t say so too
Oh well, you’re going to hell
The number god spoke to me, my friends
Think not of new earth shattering events
Just follow the past.
Follow last years trends
Trust me. I know how it ends.
Please tell me what life means
Are beans alive?
Are bee hives?
Are screens?
Or motor proteins
Or DNA or Norway?
Or words or turds?
Or cars or stars?
Who cares?
Stop splitting hairs
We know what all those things do
Who cares if they belong in a zoo
Do you?
What does light cost?
It’s almost free
But if we lost all light
All day and all night
We would pay anything to see
Darkness is creepy and crappy
Valuable stuff can be cheap
Like air, shoes, salt and sleep
Pizza, water, power and tea
But on mars these fun things are very pricey
And all their water is icy - Boohoo
But that’s also true for the eskimo
Who just goes with the flow
An eskimo never cries
Because they know what they need to know
Then please tell me what a mind is
Oh no no no, I will not
What a bad wish
To hit bullseye is to miss
Most kinds of minds
Minds don’t fall into a crispy boxes
There are too many kinds
There robots’ and foxes’
Bats’ and alarm clocks’
Gods and beetles in boxes
And ducks and dogs
Is your mind even like mine
Maybe side by side with a frogs
But most words are fuzzy, so stop your fuzz
We know what all those things do
Who cares if they belong in a mind zoo
Do you?
How to store other peoples’ labor
That’s money
And money is like honey
But most goods are not
They are hard to divide
Or might spoil over night
Honey is like money
We share it like cake
And it’s hard to fake
But unlike cake, money and honey don’t rot
Sadly shiny money and honey weighs a lot
So we made paper money
But now paper money is almost gone
Because the bank build a search tree.
They climb the tree to see who owns who money
And smart plastic cards can talk to the tree
So when you buy something in the stores
Your card calls the bank,
And tells the tree to change some numbers
That’s way easier than moving around honey
So soon you’ll touch, the very last money
Trouble is thinking its true
Because I told you so
The Dodo was a bird, that lived way back
And it were always on the right track
In it’s small pound, it was a big shot
It’s only a crime if you get caught
The bird lacked feedback
From the world
They got out of whack
The wings grew short
And laying big eggs
Became the new sport
But where’s the dodo now?
Oh no!
There’s no one back
They forget how to fly
Because there was nothing to fear
Nobody though it was a snack
But when the sailors came by
The bird wished for big wings
But they didn’t get them back
And it learned too slow
So sad, it had to go
Trouble is what you know
That sadly ain’t so
Like people trading stocks
Those people are going to blow
They think the stock is good
Because the past say so
Time tested truth
That’s a big no no
Don’t be a dodo
In a changing world
All statisticians fail
And we fail to put them into jail
Hey, just look at the numbers, they say
My numbers were true in the past
Bubbles just burst so fast
How can telling the truth be a sin
It seemed like a good idea at the time
How can changing my mind be a crime
Because you don’t know why you win
Changing my mind is what I do
When I see I’m wrong
And so do you
But so what
You owe us an good explanation
And it need to explain a lot
How did you know your winning
streak would last
The future is not the past
Mines run out of gold
New things get old
Hot stuff gets cold
Don’t make promises you can’t hold
