What is somatisation?
A
distressed due to physical symptoms when there is no obvious physical or medical cause for the symptoms
- have concern for health for at least 6 months
- symptoms are not intentionally feigned

how may a patient present with somatisation?
A
worrying excessively over certain health symptoms e.g. stomach pain - that is unexplained.
- patient goes to great lengths to attend to / invx their symptoms
- visit multiple doctors to have symptoms explained
