Q

Solubility

A

the quanitity of solute that can dissolve in a given quantity of solvent. (often represented as the maximum mass of solute that can be dissolved per 100 g of water at a given temp)

Q

miscible

A

able to mix to form a solution, usually describing the liquids that mix with eachother in all proportions to form a solution (ie. acetone and water)

Q

immisicible

A

unable to mix to form a solution, usually describing two solutions that do not readily mix. (water and oil).

Q

Concentration

A

tell us the ratio of solute to solvent in a solution. Units are the quantity of volume to solute to volume (mol/L, g/L, etc)
