solubility of salts Flashcards

1
Q

soluble salts can be made by reacting what and give examples

A

by reacting acids with solid insoluble substances such as

Q

explain the method for Separating Mixtures test

A

1) gently warm an acid using a bunsen burner
2) add the insoluble solid until no more reacts
3) filter the solution to remove the excess insoluble solid
4) heat the solution in an evaporating basin above a beaker of water
5) leave the solution to cool and allow more water to evaporate
6) as the water evaporates the solution will become more concentrated and the salt will begin to crystallise
