Steps to treat a soft tissue injury (PRICEM)

A
  • Protect (sling, crutches)
  • Rest (stop activity, find comfortable position)
  • Ice (15 min on/15 min off first 1-2 hours; then 15 min every 1-2 hours)
  • Compress (horseshoe/pressure pad, tensor/compression sleeve/compression sock)
  • Elevate (above heart)
  • Medical referral to brock sport doctor and supervising therapist
