Steps to treat a soft tissue injury (PRICEM)
A
- Protect (sling, crutches)
- Rest (stop activity, find comfortable position)
- Ice (15 min on/15 min off first 1-2 hours; then 15 min every 1-2 hours)
- Compress (horseshoe/pressure pad, tensor/compression sleeve/compression sock)
- Elevate (above heart)
- Medical referral to brock sport doctor and supervising therapist
