The Industrial Revolution.
What did the Industrial revolution bring about?
the Industrial Revolution brought major changes—factories were built, cities grew quickly. This led to new problems like overcrowded cities, poor working conditions, and inequality. Thinkers began to study how these changes affected society and how people could live together better in these new conditions
What other revolution came up about around the same time as the Industrial revolution?
The French & American Revolution.
What did the French & American Revolution challenge?
the French Revolution and American Revolution challenged the old way of ruling by kings and introduced ideas of democracy and equality. This got people thinking about how societies could be organised more fairly.
What did the French & American Revolution raise questions about?
on how societies could maintain order, balance freedom and control, and organize themselves thus fueling the development of sociological thought.
