Society is Abstract
Society involves both likeness and difference. If people are all exactly
alike, merely alike, their relationships would be limited. There would
be little give-and- take and little reciprocity.
LIKENESS AND DIFFERENCE IN SOCIETY
Collaboration and struggle are general components in human existence.
Society depends on cooperation but since of interior contrasts, there is
struggle likewise among its individuals.
COOPERATION & CONFLICT IN SOCIETY
“Society exists just as a period arrangement. It is becoming,
not a being; an interaction and not an item” (Maclver and
Page, 1956).
SOCIETY IS A PROCESS NOT A PRODUCT
Society gives an arrangement of definition of
situations with classes that every individual
has a moderately steady and unmistakable
situation in the social construction.
SOCIETY IS A SYSTEM OF STRATIFICATION
Behaviors and practices that are mandatory for all
members of the society. These patterns are often enforced
through laws, rules, and strong social expectations.
Compulsory Pattern
Behaviors and practices that are commonly observed and
widely accepted within a society. While not mandatory,
they are prevalent and considered the norm.
Typical Pattern
Behaviors and practices that provide options or alternatives
to the typical patterns. These are accepted within the
society but are not as commonly practiced.
Alternative Pattern
Behaviors and practices that are limited to specific groups
within the society. These patterns may be practiced by
subcultures or minority groups and are often distinct from
the dominant culture.
