What are the key points regarding a migrant’s entitlement to NHS care?

A
  1. primary care (GP) is free for everyone irrespective of immigrant status
  2. anyone can register with a GP - do not need proof of address/identity
  3. A&E care is free for everyone
  4. secondary care is only free for refugees + asylum seekers with an active application
  5. refused asylum seekers cannot get free secondary care
  6. special circumstances = certain infectious diseases (e.g. TB, HIV) + victims of particular crimes (e.g. torture, FGM)
