Define the Law
A series of rules designed to keep public safe from harm

Uk considers itself to be pluralist, Multicultural nature and ideas of tolerance

Cohen - media overreacts about behaviour that isn’t typical , means they normalise it

Solve social inequality will solve crime - long term, difficult to implement and doesn’t explain upper class crime
Right realism
Tougher on crime. , tougher sentencing to deter, CCTV to control crime . Will win votes but more short term and could lead to increase
