Examples of how we are socialised.
A
- Showing politeness for others through the use of please and thank you, of which we are taught through sanctions and rewards. ‘Well done’.
- Girls are given baby dolls to look after to convey their role as a caregiver. Canalisation.
- We are taught to imitate our parents- for example through working hard.

A
- Imitation of role models, learning to be a mum.
- Informal sanctions, judged by being a poor mother.
- Canalisation, dolls to be a mum.

- Imitation of role models, learning to be a mum.
- Canalisation, girls given baby dolls to teach them their role as a nurturer.
- Informal sanctions, e.g girls being told off for getting dirty.

A
- Imitation of role models, working class identity may be influenced of the higher classes, of whom they look up to and aspire to be like.
- Canalisation, buying girls clothing and makeup may result in them viewing themselves as feminine, gender roles.
- Sanctions, e.g being formally sanctioned may result in us seeing ourselves as deviant.
