Fredonia Rebellion
The Fredonian Rebellion was the first attempt (made by the Texas settlers) to secede from Mexico.
Meir y Tehran Report
Meir y Tehran was sent to Texas settlement and report back. He reported to Mexico that the Americans setters outnumbered Mexicans settlers 10 to 1.
Law of April 6th
- Immigrants from the US are banned
- All impresario contacts that aren’t completed, are cancelled
- Encouraged Mexicans and Europeans immigrants
- Outlawed slavery in Texas
- Added more Mexican soldiers/forts in Texas
- Added duties to all foreign goods entering Texas
Centralist Party
wanted the central government to have more control.
Federalist Party
wanted states to have more control.
Stephen F Austin
The father of Texas.
Turtle Bayou Resolution
They pledged their allegiance to Mexico Federalist, They said their actions were against Bradburn, not Mexico, and they started their loyalty to Santa Anna.
Battle of Velasco
John Austin got a cannon. Ugartechea attempted to stop him, and a fight broke out. Ugartechea surrendered, but they no longer needed the cannon.
Santa Anna
Santa Anna is elected President, and Stephen F. Austin believes that he will become a dictator, so they imprison him.
Convention of 1833

3. Separate statehood for Texas

A conference between opposing sides in a dispute, especially a discussion of terms for an armistice.

When enemy forces surround a town or building, forcing the opponent to surrender.

A constitutional right to reject a decision or proposal made by law makers.

Temporarily.
