Latitude vs Longitude?
Latitudes are horizontal lines that measure distance north or south of the equator. Longitudes are vertical lines that measure east or west of the meridian in Greenwich, England.
What is a Map key? Map Scale?
Map scale:a ratio of the distance on a map to the actual distance of the ground.
Map kye: little box of information found at the bottom of a map
Physical vs Political Map?
Political Maps - does not show physical features. Instead, they show state and national boundaries and capital and major cities. Physical Maps - illustrate the physical features of an area, such as the mountains, rivers and lakes. Topographic Maps - include contour lines to show the shape and elevation of an area.
