What is a compass rose?
A design on a map that shows directions
Cardinal Directions and Intermediate Directions?
The 4 major compass points or North, South, East, West used to navigate a map. Intermediate directions are the in-between compass points or Northeast, Northwest, Southeast, Southwest.
What is the equator?
An imaginary line that runs horizontally (side to side) through the center of the earth dividing the Northern and Southern hemispheres
What is Prime Meridian?
The line of 0 longitude, the starting for measuring distance both East and West around the earth.
Latitude vs Longitude?
Latitude is the distance north or south of the equator measured in degrees. Longitude is the distance east or west of the prime meridian measured in degrees
What is a Map key? Map Scale?
Map Key: Is a little box of information on the map.
Map scale: A measured ratio of the map.
History is the study of?
The study of the past
Historian study?
Historians study the past to understand people’s culture- Knowledge, beliefs, customs, and values of a group of people.
