is a horseshoe-shaped region that covers a small part of the northern United States, and a large areas on Canadas east, central, and northwestern regions. known for its thin layer of soil that lies over a thick layer of bedrock
Great Plains
includes a broad swath of land east of the Rocky Mountains. flat and treeless, covered with prairie grasses
Basin and Ranges
large landform region in the western and southwestern part of the United Sates, it is an arid, semidesert region. has a unique landscape pattern
