All people had natural rights to life, liberty, and property, and he also thought that the government was an agreement between the ruler and the world.
What were the weaknesses of the Articles of Confederation?
Compared to the stats congress had many limited powers. Congress could not regulate trade between states and foreign countries. and had no power to tax. The articles also included no president to execute laws. Congress also needed 9 states to approve a law, and to raise money they had to ask the states for it or borrow it.
