Q

Explain phillip zimbardo’s prison experiment

A

Philip Zimbardo’s Stanford Prison Experiment: college age males volunteered for experiment. ⅓ were made prisoners and ⅔ were made guards. They could use social isolation, but couldn’t hurt them. All to encourage compliance. By day 3 the guards developed disparaging attitudes towards prisoners and ⅓ of them became tyrannical. Prisoners eventually broke down, rebelled or became passively resigned and the experiment was shut down after only 6 days.
