Social organization
The people in a society considered as a system organized by a characteristic pattern of relationships
Interdependence
The degree to which members of the group are mutually dependent on others.
social contract
An agreement for mutual benefit between an individual or group and the government or community as a whole.
Explicit rules
Fully and clearly expressed or demonstrated.
Implicit rules
Implied, rather than expressly stated.
Charter of rights and freedoms
Part of the Canadian constitution and is a set of laws containing basic rules of how our country operates.

The ability to make and carry out decisions.
sovereignty
Refers to the power of government to make and enforce decisions which are binding on all citizens.
legitimacy
political authority may be preserved from the threat of civil war only when there exists in the community an agreement on the basic principles of the government.
Democracy
All citizens have access to power
Dictator
One person has complete political power
Universal suffrage
The extension of the right to vote to all adult citizens
Scarcity
Know that scarcity id the relationship that occurs when needs and wants exceed the limited resources available to meet those wants.
Resources
If a society chooses to use its resources one way then it will have to give up many of the other ways its resources could be used.
Wealth
All the goods and services (including knowledge) that are produced and distributed within society.
