Bitly
Twitter users commonly use the URL shortening tool Bitly.
It speeds up and simplifies the exchange of lengthy website addresses.
Users who have signed up for a Bitly account can view statistics for each Bitly link they have made and shared.
Clickbait
The purpose of online content is to draw users in and persuade them to click a link.
Clickthrough rate
divided by the total number of people who saw the link, is the number of users who clicked on a link.
Community management
the control of a brand’s interactions with its online community of clients, potential clients, followers, supporters, and other users.
Deepfakes
are phony audio or video recordings that are produced to sound and look exactly like the real thing. Machine learning and recorded video are coupled to produce fictitious “evidence.”
Follow/Follower
You become a follower of someone on Twitter when you do so because you are effectively subscribing to their updates and tweets. You can follow an organization or individual on LinkedIn, Instagram, Snapchat, etc.
Geotag
a tag that identifies the location of a photo or video uploaded to social media.
Handle
A handle is the moniker you select to represent yourself on Twitter.
Hashtag
a single word or phrase followed by the hash sign (#) to hide messages about that topic. Hashtags first appeared on Twitter, but they are now used on practically all other social media platforms as well.
Influencer
A social media user who can spread awareness about a trend, topic, or issue to an appropriate audience (big or small)
company or thing. Marketers try to develop connections with them in order to reach those audiences since they have already built credibility with their target audiences.
Meme
is a captioned photograph that often makes mockery of specific human behavior, famous people and public figures, or philosophical ideas.
Newsfeed
a list of news items published on a specific platform. For instance, newsfeeds are available on Twitter, blogs, and your personal Facebook page.
Ow.ly
a URL service that is recommended by apps like Hootsuite.The website enables you to reduce lengthy website addresses for shorter posts.-
Permalink (permanent link)
a link to a web page that will not be updated for a long time (static).
Reach
Reach is the whole population that a brand could reach with its advertising. It also refers to the number of times a specific post has been seen.
Thread
refers to the order in which comments appear on a specific social media post. It can be found more frequently on internet discussion boards like Reddit or Tumblr.
Troll
is a person who delights in provoking conflict. They accomplish this by making divisive remarks or publishing offensive material on social media with the express intention of stirring up strong feelings in other users.
Chatbot or bot
is a computer application that uses a chat interface to mimic talks with real users.
