Define compliance
Outwardly going along with the majority opinion while secretly disagreeing with it.
Define Identification
Acting the same way as the rest of a group because we want to fit in.
Define Internalisation
Taking on the majority opinion because we believe it is correct. It is public and private.
Define Normative Social Influence (NSI)
Following social norms so we can have societal approval because we have a desire to be liked. It is an emotional influence.
Define Informational Social Influence (ISI)
Believing the opinion of a group because we are not sure and we believe they are likely to be right and we also have a desire to be right. It is a cognitive influence.
