E- Those who drink alcohol more likely to be injured while drunk or gain health condition like liver failure
E- Parts of Scotland are blighted by a ‘booze culture’ which according to the NHS kills on average 22 scots a week in 2018.

R- However, alcohol can be linked to location which causes health inequalities
E- Scotland are more likely to drink, meaning they have worse health than England due to it
E- UK average in 2013- 13 deaths per 100,000 people, in comparison to Glasgow, Shettleston with 26 deaths per 100,000 people.

E- Poor diet leads to worse health and more likely to contract heart and cholesterol issues
E- Scottish Government statistics show that obesity was mentioned on the death certificates of 212 people in 2011

R- However, poor diet can be linked to poverty which causes health inequalities
E- Healthier food is more expensive so poor are forced to eat bad foods making them obese
E- Around 32% of adults living in the most deprived areas are obese, compared with 20% of those living in the least deprived areas. (July 2019)

E- Smoking linked to very bad illness in heart and lungs which need treated causing health inequality
E- Smoking has an estimated annual cost to NHS Scotland of between £300 million and £500 million.

R- However, smoking can be linked to gender which causes health inequalities
E- men are more likely to smoke so more likely to get health issues from smoking than women
E- 2019, 21% of men over the age of 16 smoked compared to 17% of women of the same age bracket.
