Q

Intersectionality, marginalisation and social inequality (2):

A
  • People who experience multiple forms of marginalisation regularly experience social inequality in multiple aspects of their life.
  • Inequality from one part of their life can carry into another and compound over time.

e.g. Indigenous people with a disability: prenatal, early childhood, schooling, youth, justice, health and aging…
… an undiagnosed disability can be perceived as bad behaviour during school; can be expelled; this increases the likelihood of encountering police, etc.
