What are Social Factors?
A
- Factors which affect our relationship with religion within the society in which we live
- Can be divided into three main groups; societal, political and cultural

What Social Factors influence Religion in society?
A
- Family - Through family people are brought into a particular faith, a large proportion of people in society have the same faith as their family members
- Education - Through being schooled in a religious school a person will be exposed to key teachings, practices, principles and beliefs of a religion which is likely to influence their religious outlook
- Peers - The influence of peers and their religious beliefs as well as what they approve of such as attending Church, peers make choices that are aligned wiht those of their peers
- Materialism - The tendency to consider material possessions as physical comforts rather than spiritual comforts, it is the excessive desire to acquire goods and people often loose sight of spirituality as they believe happiness can be bought

How does Religion impact upon a persons interaction with Social Factors?
A
- Materialism - If people are religious they do not believe in materialism and consumerism, in Catholicism people are taught that true happiness and freedom cannot be bought an therefore will not be overly where as those who are not influenced by religion tend to posses more than the basic needs in order to gain happiness in return where as those impacted by religion will see this as wrong and as a violation of God and his teachings
- Education - If people are Catholic they are more likely to send their children to a Catholic school rather than a public school
- Religion - If people are religious they are more likely to attend Church and be more charitable
