The psychological regulation of an individual or groups behaviour so they comply with social norms and structures
Ethical implications
Questioned as to who should have the power to control the behaviour of other individuals and raises issues with freedom and choice
Formal control
Regulation imposed or implemented by the government such as police investigations, surveillance, asserts and court sanctions
Informal control
Methods used to society to pressure an individual to behave a certain way without resource to formal mechanism such ass families, schools, religion and mass media
Technical control
Use of technologies to monitor behaviour such as surveillance and GPS tracking
