Ethnocentrism
The belief that one’s own culture is the natural, or best, culture

Secondary socialisation
Learning of behavioural patterns that occurs outside the family environment such as school system
Tertiary socialisation
Behaviours that are acquired as a process of engagement with others that occurs outside mandatory formal education such as social and free time activities
Cross cycle psychology
The systematic study of relationships between the cultural content of human development and the behaviours that become established in the repertoire of individuals growing up in that particular culture
Cross cultural competence
Behaviours, attitudes and motivations that are demonstrated by an individual in a professional capacity
