From where does the ESOP take a suction?
The return header not the Vacuum Tank. The Vacuum Tank will fill and LCV-25 in the tank will close.
What happens to the Seal Oil System when MTLO is lost?
The Aux Detraining Tank will drain to the Vacuum Tank. The MTLO pressure will no longer hold the check valves closed which effectively makes the SO System a closed system which results in heatup.
What powers the ESOP?

When will the ESOP trip?
It wont. There are electrical protection alarms but wont trip.
How much can H2 purity lower if vacuum is not maintained in the Vacuum Tank?
2% every eight hours.
The air and/or Hydrogen from the oil will be released in the Main Generator.
What prevents both filters from being in service at the same time?
A mechanical interlock
What is the purpose for the Vacuum Tank in the Seal Oil System?
To maintain H2 purity
After the Main Seal Oil pumps, what is the flow path to the Main Generator? (Big Picture)
The line splits into 2 lines downstream of the filters and goes to the Turbine End of the MG and the Collector End of the MG.
When does the ESOP auto start?
Main Seal Oil Pump Discharge of 110 psig

What is the purpose for the SO Recirc Pump?
Removes gases from the Seal Oil

To the hydrogen detraining section and then down to the float valve

What happens to SO if you lose the MSOP and the ESOP?
MTLO will supply at about 25psig. Hydrogen pressure in the Main Generator will drop a few pounds lower than the MTLO pressure i.e. H2 leaks out = fire hazard
What will happen if the Vacuum Tank in the Seal Oil System becomes inperable?
H2 purity will decrease
2% every 8 hours
When would one need to bypass the float valve in the Seal Oil System?
On a high level in the detraining section.
What powers the SO Recirc Pump?

If you lose the MSOP and the ESOP, how does that affect Main Generator operation?
The MTLO supply pressure of ~25 psig which means that H2 pressure will drop lower than that. Main Generator load will need to be reduced.
What is the flow path for SO Recirc Pump?
Takes a suction on the Vacuum Tank and returns the flow to the Vacuum Tank through spray nozzles

At what vacuum is the Vacuum Tank maintained for the Seal Oil System?
