A

panzer, German in full Panzerkampfwagen, series of battle tanks fielded by the German army in the 1930s and ’40s. The six tanks in the series constituted virtually all of Germany’s tank production from 1934 until the end of World War II in 1945.

A

The 7th Panzer Division was an armoured formation of the German Army in World War II. It participated in the Battle of France, the invasion of the Soviet Union, the occupation of Vichy France, and on the Eastern Front until the end of the war. The 7th Panzer Division is also known by its nickname, Ghost Division.

Why was the 7th Panzer Division called the Ghost Division?

Due to Rommel’s tactics of rapid advance the 7th Panzer Division was known as the Ghost Division, as the German High Command frequently had no idea where Rommel or his Panzers were.

What was the 11st Panzer division?

A

The 11th Panzer Division was part of Case Blue from June 1942 onward, participating in the capture of Voronezh and the drive towards Stalingrad. It avoided being entrapped with the 6th Army in the city but suffered substantial losses during the winter of 1942-43.

what was the lehr division?

A

The Panzer Lehr division certainly deserves to be at the top of the list. It was an elite division formed in 1943 and equipped with the best equipment, tanks, men, etc. and fought very hard, sometimes to near the point of destruction. definitely the best division by far.
