MOA: inhibitor of SERT and weak inhibitor of NET without much affinity for histamine, alpha-adrenergic and cholinergic receptors (unlike TCAs); better tolerated as a result of this selectivity
Use: treatment of MAJOR DEPRESSION, neuropathies, fibromyalgia, generalized anxiety, stress urinary incontinence, vasomotor symptoms of menopause

-chronic pain is associated with depression, and inhibition of NE and 5-HT reuptake is useful for treating pain
